This website was created by the New England Regional Council of Carpenters. We have been a part of leading campaigns to increase diversity in construction. These campaigns include college students, faculty and staff, community activists, political leaders, and tradespeople, who share a common belief that overcoming institutional barriers to job opportunities for women and people of color in the construction trades requires an active effort to recruit, hire and promote a diverse workforce. We see college communities as ideal sites for inclusive efforts to rake root and grow, places where we can challenge each other to more fully live our values.
