Seleina lives in Holyoke with her wife and three children. Her wife is a personal care attendant. Seleina initially left her apprenticeship after two years because of health issues with one of her children and had to stop working to care for him. She is now back working and back with the union and is saving money to buy her own home. She also goes to school at night for construction management..

I had to leave the union years ago to take care of my kids. I always told myself I’m going to go back as soon as I can. It took me 7yrs to do it but I did and I’m happy. I wake up every morning looking forward to going to work as a union carpenter. If you don’t love what you’re doing than what’s the point?
